"How to write a novel (the easy way)"

Have you ever dreamt of holding in your hands a published novel with your name on the cover? How about seeing your name and the title of your book on a bestseller list? Or what about just knowing deep down that you created something that previously only existed in your imagination?

Writing a novel is as much a journey of personal reflection and expression, as it is about telling a story.

Just like painting, drawing, music, and any other art form, writing takes practice and patience to learn. Yet, once you develop confidence in your own abilities, and finally complete your novel, an unbelievable sense of accomplishment and fulfilment takes over.

Everybody has a story in them; if you truly want to live a fulfilling life, and you believe that you are meant to write a novel, then do it. Write your novel. Tell your story (or stories). Express yourself. Do it now. Don’t wait for ‘someday’, or ‘oneday’. Have a look at a calendar, and tell me if you see those two days on it. They don’t exist, and they never will. Stop putting it off; learn how to write a novel today, and start writing it.

Don’t die with your stories still in you.

Why Write A Novel?

Maybe you feel it’s your purpose to write great novels, or maybe it’s a dream you’ve had to walk past a bookstore and see your work of art in the window, or maybe you want to tell the world of the wonderful stories inside you. Whatever your reasons for wanting to write a novel, you have to have a strong belief in it.

Writing a novel is not easy when you don’t have a strong enough purpose. It can become easy though with the right amount of intangible belief, combined with ever-improving writing abilities.

What Does It Take To Write A Novel?

Not much, but a lot. If you can write a coherent sentence in your language of choice you’ve got some of the essential tools to writing a novel. These technical skills can be learnt and improved quite easily, yet these skills alone will not allow you to write a novel.

A novel comes from a source deep within you. You have to WANT to write a novel…not just kind of want to because it would be cool. You have to have the determination, the vision, and the patience to complete your novel, and if you want it bad enough, your drive will outweigh all fears or worries of uncertainty.

However, to write a novel you have to write. Just write.

Learning How To Write A Novel

A professional basketball player practices all facets of his sport in the gym. He studies the techniques and tactics of successful players that have achieved what he has. He then goes out onto the court, and puts all he has learnt into that one game. He learns from his mistakes, and revels in his victories. Always improving, and always striving for more.

This is how you need to approach your writing. To practice your writing, simply write. Write and write. Study the styles of other successful writers by reading their books, and listening to their guidance. Absorb the teachings of other writers who are kind enough to offer their insights so that you can improve your style. Then write some more. Writing can be easy and enjoyable if you are willing to put in the time and effort to learn from others, and learn from yourself.

It can be even easier if you have a successful writer ‘coaching’ you, step-by-step along your novel writing journey.
